Council sells home for £2.96m

The house billed as the most expensive council home in Britain has been sold for £2.96 million in an "extremely competitive" auction which lasted a matter of minutes. The 200-year-old building, which is close to Borough Market in South London, had been valued by Southwark Council at £2.3 million before going under the hammer.
