Hamilton Public Library’s Annual Used Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1. 113-year-old listed hotel to be turned into flats and assisted living

A 113-year-old hotel which closed eight years ago is to be turned into flats and assisted living. Barnton Hotel in Edinburgh became derelict after closing in 2004 and the listed building has since been added to the buildings at risk register. On Wednesday, the City of Edinburgh Council’s planning committee approved plans to turn the site into assisted living and residential flats. Mustek CEO and founder David Kan says the listed group does not have a majority stake in Comztek.
