Village alms houses get a major facelift

A GRADE two listed historical building designed to accommodate poor people has undergone a £215,000 renovation project. Building work started at the Law Memorial Alms House in Bishops Tawton in March this year. The property had consisted of 12 ground and first-floor bedsits with a meeting room at the southern end. Tacoma commission rejects landmark de-listing request

This year’s Akwaaba:  African Travel Market will be starting two days earlier than planned because the Lagos State Local Government election has been fixed for October 22, 2011. J.D. Salinger note listed on Ebay at $50000, but is it worth it?

J.D. Salinger certainly left the world hungry for more of his writing, but is a one-sentence note scribbled to a maid really worth $50,000? A company called History Direct seems to hope so. It's listed a letter written by the beloved 20th century writer on EBay for a whopping 50 grand. Newly-listed Mvelaserve impresses

Johannesburg - Business support services group Mvelaserve on Thursday reported a 42.2% rise in headline earnings per share to 159.8 cents for the year ended June 2011 from 112.4c a year ago. Foster’s Sainsbury Centre to go up for listing

The Twentieth Century Society is set to submit Foster Associates’ Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts for listing.
