Wrexham council is applying for listed building consent to revamp a dated public toilet. The application forms part of the authority’s plans to upgrade its town centre loos and charge people 20p to spend a penny. Teachers in Berkshire are among some of the highest paid in the country, according to official figures. The average staff salary at Churchend Primary School Academy in Calcot is £48,823 a year, the ninth most in any school outside London. Research by Trinity Mirror’s data team revealed the 10 schools with the lowest and highest average pay across Reading, Wokingham, West Berkshire and Bracknell.
