An official bid for Liverpool city centre pub the Roscoe Head to be listed as an asset of community value has now been submitted. Campaigners fear for the long-term future of the pub, which is set to get new owners as part of a huge deal between Punch Taverns and property firm NewRiver. Historic Coventry pub given Grade II listed status

A Coventry pub has been given listed status as part of a national drive to protect historic venues that pre-date World War Two. The Biggin Hall Hotel, in Binley Road, was awarded Grade II listed status by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport following a project led by Historic England to protect pubs built between World War One and Two.
