London gay pub the Royal Vauxhall Tavern is given Grade II listing

One of the UK’s oldest and best known gay venues, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT) in south London, has been designated a listed building after a campaign whose supporters included Sir Ian McKellen, Paul O’Grady and Graham Norton. Royal Vauxhall Tavern gets listed status

The RVT, the UK’s oldest LGBTQ pub, has been made a listed building today protecting it against radical redevelopment. Record revenues at listed video game developer

The company has also returned to the black, recovering from an operating loss of £1.7m last year and posting a profit of £1.6m. An Epsom pub is to be awarded Grade II listed status by Historic England (formerly English Heritage) as a fine and rare example of the "improved pub" movement which flourished in the inter-war years, writes Elisabeth Davis.
