Turnover of HK-listed ETFs soars in 2014

ETFs accounted for 95% of the turnover, according to the exchange’s annual fact book. The trading continued to be dominated by A-share ETFs, which recorded a total turnover value of HK$887.5bn in 2014, accounting for 76% of the annual turnover of all ETFs (HK$1.16trn). The turnover of ETFs and REITs collectively constituted 7% of the total turnover of all securities on the main board, compared to 6% in 2013.
