St Mary in the Baum church has become just the third building in Rochdale to be given Grade I listed status. The 100-year-old Toad Lane church joins St Edmund’s Church in Falinge, and Rochdale town hall, and becomes part of the exclusive club that includes magnificent English buildings such as Durham Cathedral and Buckingham Palace after being given the highest listing by English Heritage. SCRANTON — A downtown Scranton bar, Mert’s, is for sale for $175,000.

The open-floor-plan bar at Linden Street and Penn Avenue has 5,120 square feet of space.

The sale price includes rights to the Mert’s name, the liquor license, inventory, equipment and furniture, according to listing information from Nasser Real Estate.

The location became a bar in 2000 and was known as the Metro Lounge before becoming Mert’s.
