This throwback monstrosity is supposedly the Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9983, a phone that'll combine a 720 x 720 pixel 3.1-inch display with 2GB of RAM and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Listed stocks and stone stolen from outside church

HISTORIC Grade II listed stocks and a number of York flag stones have been stolen from outside a church. The wood from the 18th century stocks and the slabs outside the Church of St John the Baptist in Broughton, Preston, were stolen over the weekend.Police and the church are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.According to English Heritage the village stocks with two shouldered slabs, two wooden beams with housing for two occupants and metal shackles.The Read more [...]

Horsham War Memorial granted listed status

The War Memorial in the Carfax, Horsham, has been listed at Grade II as part of an English Heritage scheme to list up to 500 war memorials a year over the next five years to mark the centenary of the First World War. The English Heritage scheme has the backing of Culture Secretary, Sajid Javid, who leads for the Government on First World War commemorations.
