Wrexham’s Waterworld heritage-listing bid fails

A bid to get Listed Building Status in the fight to save a multi-million pound leisure complex from demolition has failed. A request was made to Welsh historic monuments agency Cadw to give Wrexham’s Waterworld protection to preserve it for future generations. But that bid has now been rejected by Cadw officials, who said when Waterworld was refurbished in 1998, it altered the historic nature of the building and it does not qualify.
