Government launches listed building consent consultation – Out
The Government has launched a consultation on a set of draft regulations which are intended to reduce the number of situations in which applications for listed building consent will be required.18 Dec 2013

Around 1,500 homes will have to be demolished and listed buildings will be lost if a new runway is built to the north west of Heathrow airport.
And if politicians decide that, instead of Heathrow expansion, a new runway at Gatwick in West Sussex is the answer to the UK's airport capacity problems, 200 homes will be demolished.

Only listed bamboo firm quits for property market
The world's only listed bamboo company has turned its back
on the plant to go into the China's property market, citing a "shrinking pool"
of agricultural labour and weakened export prospects.
Asian Bamboo - which operates in Fujian province in south
east China, but is listed in Frankfurt - said it was to stop investing in its
bamboo assets, of which some would be put up for leasing out or "possibly" for
sale.

TN Govt. to build over 2 lakh houses for slum dwellers
Proposing a massive housing scheme for slum dwellers in municipalities and town panchayats, the State government has planned to construct around 2.15 lakh dwelling units at a cost of about Rs.13,455 crore.If this proposal were to fructify, 25 per cent of urban slum families in these two categories of urban local bodies would be covered. Slowing signs in home sales

After months of huge gains in Houston-area home sales, there are signs that the buying frenzy may be slowing, the Houston Association of Realtors said Tuesday.
The group reported November home sales to be up 3.3 percent compared to a year earlier. That’s the smallest one-month sales increase since June 2011 and the lowest one-month sales volume since February of this year. Buyers closed on 5,108 single-family homes in November.

Ten outrageous predictions for 2014 – Saxo Bank
Trading platform Saxo Bank has released its annual‘Outrageous Predictions' for the year ahead.
As the firm highlighted, the outlook is not official and the probability of the events listed actually happening are quite low. However, they have been deduced strategically by Saxo Bank's analysts based on "a feasible - if unlikely - series of market and political events."
