Bidston Observatory may be sold ‘within days’

Bidston Observatory on Wirral could be sold for development into flats within days. Developers have been given a deadline of November 30 to make offers on Grade II-listed Observatory, which towers above Wirral from its Bidston Hill base. But campaigners – concerned about the potential consequences of development – have called for a delay to the sale. Assura in £22.4m sale of health centres

Listed healthcare property firm Assura Group today announced a deal to sell its interests in seven companies. It is disposing of the equity and loan notes it has in the LIFT companies for a combined price of £22.4million. LIFT – Local Improvement Finance Trusts – used combined public and private sector investments to develop primary healthcare facilities that were then let to NHS bodies on long-term leases. Building on Austin Street erected in 1910 scheduled for demolition

Another one of Denton’s historic buildings is scheduled for demolition, possibly today.The 3,800-square-foot brick building at 210 and 212 N. Austin St. has needed a new roof for years and has other structural problems, according to its owner, Chris Landry.Most recently, the building was home to a furniture restorer but has been vacant since 2010. The birth of children and clinical depression are no longer being formally reported as incidents in Australian detention centres, while self-harm events have been downgraded from critical to major, according to new guidelines from the detention service provider Serco.
