Balloon festival announces event details, first special shapes – Glens Falls Post

Adirondack Balloon Festival officials have announced final plans for this year’s event set for Sept. 19-22, including the debut of a new special-shape balloon, Stinky the Skunk.This year, the event, split between Crandall Park in Glens Falls and Warren County airport in Queensbury, is listed by the American Bus Association as one of the top 100 events in North America.The balloon festival is the only event in the region to receive the designation, according to a news release from festival Read more [...]

Big draw: Town draws almost half of county’s visitors

COBOURG -  They say tourism is a multi-million-dollar business, and that's certainly proven true for Cobourg. According to Ministry of Tourism figures, Northumberland County experiences an annual 1.1 million visitors who spend $142 million that supports 600 tourism-related businesses. Celine Dion is cashing out of the mansion market, listing two of her trophy properties for a total of more than $100 million. The singer is listing her Florida compound on Jupiter Island for $72 million, making it one of the most expensive listings in the state.
