There was a lot of talk last year that pay-per-view was a dying business with various reasons blamed, most notably the inability to stop rampant piracy. Boxing shows with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao were doing big numbers, but the other two major pay-per-view promotions, UFC and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), were a mixed bag.
