Residents from the Downers Grove, Villa Park, Carol Stream and Wheaton communities are included in a database released by the Los Angeles Times this week that lists more than 1,200 men and women who have been categorized as “ineligible volunteers” by the Boy Scouts of America. A former Concord Scoutmaster is named in the recently released files detailing sex-abuse allegations within the Boy Scouts of America from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. Brockton area men listed in Boy Scouts “perversion files”

While on a weeklong camping trip, a local Boy Scout troop leader entered the tent of a Scout and repeatedly tried to reach down the 10-year-old’s pants. This account is one of thousands of sex abuse claims that came to light this week with the release of the Boy Scouts’ secret “perversion files.” The man accused in the account was a Brockton man who volunteered with Brockton Troop 19 in the early 1980s.
