Kimberley gas hub area to be heritage listed Tuesday, 07/06/2011 The Australian Heritage Council has recommended a stretch of West Australian coastline, which is earmarked for a natural gas hub, be heritage listed. The area comprises 20 million hectares of the west Kimberley and includes the Dampier Peninsula. The listing aims to preserve fossilised dinosaur footprints found in the area. Questor share tip: Buy Melrose as unit sale ‘validates’ its business model

Christopher Miller, chairman of Melrose, noted yesterday that "almost £1bn of cash will have been generated from McKechnie Dynacast which were acquired for £429m in 2005." The money, worth about 70p a share, will be returned to shareholders through a buyback. All the cash will be paid to Melrose on completion of the deal – so there is no deferred payment to wait around for.
