Wharfinger: Nelson House

Nelson House in Rotherhithe was probably not named after the famous admiral. Instead its origins lie in the 1740s when it was built for one of the shipbuilding owners linked to the nearby Nelson Dock.

The front entrance of Nelson House faces Rotherhithe Street – rather than the Thames – suggesting that, in an earlier life, it led to the shipyard.

Schnitzer West puts for sale sign on Denny Triangle buildings

Seattle developer Schnitzer West has put its 1918 Eighth office tower up for sale, three months after it leased most of the 36-story building to Amazon.com. The building wouldn't be on the market now but for the fast-growing online retailer, said Dan Ivanoff, Schnitzer's founder and managing member. "That was a game-changer," he said. A CHURCH has launched a £100,000 appeal to raise funds for urgent restoration work.
