Steve Smith says he only decided to put his house up for sale when his wife became pregnant.The house has been listed since June, and in this economy it's no surprise it hasn't sold. He'd already dropped the price from $2.9 million to $2.3 million. Reports of Smith's home sale sparked speculation that he was planning to play elsewhere in 2011. Station Casinos Inc. affiliates including Fiesta Station Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection to implement an asset sale that is part of the parent company’s reorganization plan. Fiesta Station listed assets of as much as $500 million and debt of more than $1 billion in a Chapter 11 petition filed yesterday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Reno, Nevada. Higher value properties entering buy-to-let market

Research by Arla shows an 11.6 per cent increase in the average capital value of rental houses from £401,400 to £447,900 for the first three months of 2011, above the last market peak of £442,600 in 2007, thanks to an influx of high value properties into the space. The trade body said this growth was driven by London and the South East, with a 14.8 per cent increase in average capital value in central London and 16.2 per cent in the rest of the South East.
