History goes for carpark

TWO local heritage-listed houses in Torrensville are at risk of being demolished to make way for a carpark. An application was lodged with West Torrens Council to bulldoze the two Huntriss St homes and create extra car parking for the neighbouring doctors surgery. Despite Uncertainty, Monmouth Unveils Stakes

Despite uncertainty over its 2011 racing calendar, Monmouth Park March 15 unveiled a $4.2 million stakes schedule that encompasses the core of its proposed meet. The New Jersey racetrack has scheduled the $1 million Haskell Invitational (gr. I) for 3-year-olds for Sunday, July 31. Seven other stakes are slated for that program. Boston church asks Vatican to stop its sale

BOSTON - Parishioners at a closed Roman Catholic church have asked the Vatican to stop the Boston Archdiocese’s attempts to sell the church building. Parishioners at Boston’s Holy Trinity Church, recently listed for $2.3 million, made the request Monday to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Clergy. UK Visa Tier 2 occupation list reduced by Government

15 March 2011 The UK Government has announced that the number of potential posts open to skilled migrant workers will be reduced by around 270,000. The UK Immigration department has changed the occupations listed under the Tier 2 UK Visa category of the points system. Gains in house prices are likely to “recede” starting next month as shorter mortgage terms keep some buyers out of an already softening market, the Canadian Real Estate Association said Tuesday. February sales slipped 1.6 per cent compared to January across the country, CREA said, and were 5.9 per cent lower than a year ago.
