Lakshmi Mittal retains top spot

Steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, a non-resident Indian, has retained his position as the richest Asian in the United Kingdom. According to the Asian Rich List 2011 by Eastern Eye, a weekly publication brought out by the Asian Media and Marketing Group, Mr. Mittal and his family's wealth stood at £15.5 billion, £1.5 billion less than a year ago. £165k council boss named on new Town Hall Rich List (VOTE)

THE chief executive of North Lincolnshire Council is one of ten officials identified in a new Town Hall Rich List highlighting those earning more than £100,000. Figures show that in the 2009/10 financial year, Simon Driver earned more than £165,000. He was paid a salary of £131,191, as well as other benefits totalling £4,943 and an employers' pension contribution of £28,923.
