Memphis celebrities’ estates go up for sale

Estates of three high-profile Memphians will go up for sale in the next two months with items including fine art and antique furniture from author Shelby Foote, the treadmill that Isaac Hayes collapsed on before his death, and furnishings from the home of Tamara Mitchell-Ford. Capital small business asking price plummets

The median asking price for small businesses in the Sacramento area was down more than 20 percent in fourth quarter 2010 compared with a year earlier, according to San Francisco-based BizBuySell.com, which tracks business sales nationwide.BizBuySell said Tuesday the median asking price of area businesses in last year's final quarter was $199,000, down from $250,000 in the last quarter of 2009.Fourth quarter calculations were based on 114 area businesses listed for sale at BizBuySell.
