Sir Michael Stoute’s charge proved a warm order in the betting offices this morning and that confidence was not misplaced as the daughter of Galileo handed out a seven-length beating to her rivals.

Rank outsider Livia’s Dream set off at a rate of knots in the 1m4f contest but the remainder of the pack elected not to follow her lead as Ed Walker’s four-year-old strode clear.

The complexion of the race was to change as she came back to the field quickly with two furlongs to go and the fancied horses made their challenges up the camber.

Having sat at the back of the field, Ryan Moore’s move was both deliberate and decisive with just over a furlong to go and the assuming the lead in one burst of speed before being kept up to her work to the line.

Songbird ran on for second having had to switch around rivals while Special Meaning held on for third having led the chasing group for the majority of the race.

A delighted Stoute said: “We changed things around a bit from the weekend, we dropped her out and put a ring bit on her. She did it very nicely.

“I’m not sure there’s anything left for her, she has had two quick races, but I’m almost certain the owners will keep her in training.

“She’s still an unfurnished filly.”
