TICONDEROGA — Ticonderoga’s Best Fourth in the North Committee needs help now so it can put on the community’s celebration this year.
Committee Chair Debbie Barber said local businesses, organizations and community members are needed to sponsor the $30,000 event, which will be held July 1, 2, 3 and 4.
“Without the support of our area businesses, organizations and community members, the celebration would not be possible,” she said by email.
“The Town of Ticonderoga does provide some funding, but most of the money needed is raised by the committee.”
Donations are tax-deductible, Barber said, and can be made by mailing a check to the Best 4th in the North/TMSP, P.O. Box 379, Ticonderoga, NY 12883.
She said any sponsorships must be received quickly to be included on T-shirts, banners and schedules.
A $500 donation gets listed on parade banners, schedules, press releases, advertising and T-shirts; other sponsorships are for $250, $100 and $50 and have varying degrees of recognition at the event.
The committee is also holding coin drops in Ticonderoga on June 22 and 23, she said.
“Those will give community members and visitors an opportunity to support the celebration,” Barber said.
The celebration will include fireworks, a parade, live music, food, vendors, rides, games and more, she said.
“We are working on adding new vendors and food options in Bicentennial Park, as well as expanding music within the parade and the park.
“We are looking for local bands and musicians who would like to participate in the parade. Prizes will be given out as part of the parade.”
The theme for the parade this year is “Movie Classics,” and many floats will reflect that topic.
The parade starts at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, and other events are listed on the event’s website: best4thinthenorth.com.
