Verdict

Boomshackerlacker made little impression when stepped up to a mile in the German 2000 Guineas on his return to action. He’s much better suited by today’s distance but carries a penalty for last year’s Listed win. Emell was expected to finish closer at Haydock last time but had finished ahead of both Birdman and Well Acquainted when second in the Free Handicap at Newmarket earlier. Here Comes When has plenty of scope after winning at Chester but was receiving over a stone in weight when finishing in front of HASOPOP at Newbury before that. The latter also has the beating of Graphic Guest and after scoring at Headquarters on his latest start, Marco Botti’s charge is fancied to follow-up in this.
