Highly potential candidates to clash in the Mawatheeq Rosemary Stakes (Listed Race)

The Class 1 Mawatheeq Rosemary Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies Mares) is flooded with candidates who are taking the slide down from the graded company. Twelve three-year-old and above runners have registered for the mile contest at Newmarket on Friday, 28th September. The winner has been promised the £18,714 prize money.

Making steady progress, and in the process attaching the Group 3 success honour against the name is the three-year-old bay filly, Dank.

The Sir Michael Stoute trained was highly impressive in the Group 3Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Atalanta Stakes on 1st September, 2012 at Sandown race course over a mile.

The favourite entry had to battle through the final furlong and, ended up escaping defeat by the negligible mark of a neck. She defeated Ladys First into the second position while riding with jockey, Richard Hughes. She had drawn the thirteenth gate in the field of sixteen.

The filly retains the same team for the race today, and is backed by 9 to 2 odds coupled with the eighth stall.

Another highly interesting candidate for the challenge today is the four-year-old bay filly, Thistle Bird. Her streak of four wins in a row got distorted due to a second position in a Group 2 contest otherwise she was on her way to achieving success in three Listed races and a graded event.

Three out of the last four outings have culminated into wins.

The Roger Charlton trained won the Betfred The Bonus King Stakes (Registered As The Midsummer Stakes) on 30th June, 2012 at Windsor race course over a mile and half-furlong.

With jockey, James Doyle, guiding him through the track, the duo defeated the favourite entry, Coupe De Ville, by just half-length.

Thistle Bird then struck a back-to-back by claiming the Woodcote Stud EBF Valiant Stakes (Listed Race) on 27th July, 2012 at Ascot race course over a mile. He kept the runner-up, Villeneuve, adrift by 2 ¾ lengths.

The most recent trip at Haydock had him winning the Celebrating 45 Years Of Betfred Superior Mile (Listed Race) on 8th September, 2012 over a mile.

The entry will take off from the seventh gate today.
