Bellangelo Winery listed for sale – Elmira Star

Bellangelo Winery in Dundee, Yates County, has been put on the market for $499,000. The asking price includes 10 acres on Seneca Lake, two tasting rooms, a wine cellar and a production area and laboratory.

Founded by Michael Litterio in 2002, the Italian-themed winery has a sweeping view of the lake and could be repurposed into a restaurant, says Mel Russo, the Seneca Falls, Seneca County, real estate broker who has the listing for the property.

Since Villa Bellangelo buys grapes for its annual production of 3,000 cases, the property does not have vineyards.

Known for its semi-sparkling Moscato wine made from Valvin Muscat grapes, the winery, located on Poplar Road, will remain open and fully operational until the sale occurs, Litterio says. Free shipping on orders of more than $50 will be available until Aug. 31.

Litterio, a full-time employee at Constellation Brands, says a desire to spend more time with his children prompted putting the winery up for sale.

“The demands of having two jobs is kind of getting in the way of that,” he said.
