Kingston Flyer on Trade Me


Fancy a train, a station, a tavern and some land?

Real Estate company Ray White has listed the legendary Kingston Flyer and all the trimmings for sale.

The sale appeared on internet auction site Trade Me yesterday afternoon. The steam locomotive is for mortgagee sale on behalf of Prudential Mortgage Nominees.

There is no price tag attached with the sale to conducted by negotiation.

As well as the train, two passenger cars, kitchen van and flattop wagons, the winner will get the station, pub, the railway corridor to Fairlight and Fairlight Station.

But wait there’s more.

A portfolio of 13 land parcels surrounding the township are included in the sale comprising about 80ha behind Kingston.

The Trade Me advertisement says all offers will be presented and the listing expires on April 26.

The agent in charge of the sale, Bob Muir, of Christchurch last night said no offers had been made.
