RESIDENTS had a second chance last night to view the plans for a scheme to build 700 homes on a quarry site in Bradford.
The Marshall family, which owns the Bolton Woods quarry, arranged the second public exhibition, after calls from local councillors and the community to hold another consultation session.
They have been looking at alternative uses for the quarry, which supplies Yorkshire stone, as its long-term future is no longer viable.
The plans were on show at Bolton Villas Church in Wrose and members of the development team were there to answer questions from local residents.
A spokesman for the Marshall family said: “This large brownfield site can help to ease the housing shortage in the area and we want to ensure local views are taken on board, where possible, throughout the development process.”
There have been about 30 objections from members of the public and heritage bosses have concerns about the proximity of some of the houses to two neighbouring listed buildings.
Bradford Council planners are expected to determine the plans next month.
