The following shows fourth-quarter sales, median sales prices and percentage changes from the year-earlier period:
Chesterfield County: 1,196 sales, up 14 percent; $228,125 median sales price, up 4 percent
Hanover County: 383 sales, up 11 percent; $254,950, up 3 percent
Henrico County: 995 sales, up 5 percent; $215,000, no change
Richmond: 590 sales, up 4 percent; $199,950, down 3 percent
Richmond metro total: 3,164, up 9 percent; $221,991, up 1 percent

Home sales in Central Virginia increased throughout 2015 compared with the previous year, rising double digits every quarter and up 14 percent overall in 2015 from 2014, according to a year-end and fourth-quarter housing market report released Tuesday by the Richmond Association of Realtors.
Last year marked the fifth consecutive year of sales growth and the most consistently strong sales growth in the region since before the recession, reflecting continued buyer confidence in the market, according to the report.
