Britain’s love of property showed no signs of abating in 2015, with prices rising throughout the year and edging ever nearer to the £200,000 mark.

Indeed, values are now growing at their fastest pace since the spring, with buyers typically paying £196,999 to purchase a home of their own, according to the latest figures published yesterday by Nationwide.

However, the strength of the market is not being felt across the whole of the country, with a north south divide becoming increasingly apparent.

As the most viewed homes for sale this year reveal, it is possible to purchase a five bedroom home in Buckinghamshire for £2m at one end of the scale and a three bedroom house in Liverpool for £40,000 at the other.

The most popular properties on the Zoopla website also include a luxury home featured on TV’s Grand Designs.
