Man robbed at gunpoint for Nike Air Jordan sneakers listed for sale on Instagram

AKRON, Ohio — A 19-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night after he listed a pair of Nike sneakers for sale on Instagram, police say.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near the area of Orlando Avenue and Slosson Street, Lt. Rick Edwards said.

The victim drove to the neighborhood to meet with someone interested in buying a pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers that he had listed for sale on the popular photo-sharing app.

When the victim and his friend arrived, they were approached by three men, Edwards said. One of the men pulled a silver revolver from the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt and pointed it at the victim.

The robbers took the shoes from the victim and ran toward Lawton Street, Edwards said.

The three robbers were described to police as being between 17 and 21 years old. The robber who threatened the victim with the revolver is named either Eric or Aaron, police said.
