BREAKING: Richie Wellens transfer listed by Doncaster Rovers

Richie Wellens will only leave the Keepmoat on Paul Dickov’s terms after the Rovers boss revealed the midfielder is talking to another club.

Despite earlier reports, Wellens has not been placed on the transfer list at Doncaster Rovers but his days are the club appear numbered.

Dickov categorically denied that he and the veteran midfielder had fallen out, insisting he felt it would not be right to have played Wellens in Saturday’s win over Fleetwood.

And he insists he wants Wellens’ future confirmed by Monday.

“I know there’s been rumours we’ve had a fall out but that’s definitely not the case,” Dickov told the Star.
“He’s not asked to go on the transfer list either.
“There is another club interested in him and I’ve given him permission to talk to them.
“But if he goes, he goes on my terms and I’d like it to be all wrapped up one way or another by Monday.
“I didn’t think it was right for him to play today under the circumstances but I can’t say strongly enough there is no problem between me and Richie and Richie and the club.
“In fact he was the first person to text after the game and say well done to me and the lads.
“If he goes, I’ll wish him good luck and if he stays I’ll be delighted.”

Dickov revealed he does have a replacement lined up should Wellens depart the club this weekend.

Wellens has made 98 appearances for Rovers since returning to the club in August 2013, four years after originally departing following a highly successful initial spell.
