CES 2015: When and where are the main announcements?

The Consumer Electronics Show is kicking off on January 5, bringing the heavy hitters from the tech industry to Las Vegas to showcase their latest products.

Samsung, Sony, LG and Nvidia will all be exhibiting at the show and like most of the big manufacturers have keynote addresses scheduled to reveal exactly what they’ve been working on.

Keeping track of them all can be tricky, so we’ve listed the timings of the main press conferences at this year’s show below for you. All times are listed in GMT.

We’ve also outlined our top tech predictions for the event as well as a handy primer on what to expect at CES for this year’s show.

Monday, January 4, 2015

4.00 – 04.30: Nvidia

Nvidia’s conference is likely to show us a new mobile processor and the follow-up to the Tegra K1 that was revealed at last year’s CES. There’s even an outside chance we may see a new iteration of the Shield gaming tablet.

16.00 – 16.45: LG

LG super thin display
LG has confirmed it will be showing off a super thin LED display at CES

The LG press conference is likely to show off the company’s new line of 4K UHD TVs with quantum dot technology. The LG G Flex 2 could feature as well although it’s unlikely we’ll hear anything about the LG G4.

18.00 – 18.45: Panasonic

Like LG, we can be pretty sure that Panasonic will be anchoring its conference around its LED TV line-up for 2015.

20.00 – 20.45: Qualcomm

Qualcomm might not be a company that everyone’s familiar with but it’s contribution is nevertheless an important one. The company is likely to officially reveal its Snapdragon 810 mobile processor that will power 2015’s mobile phones and tablets.

22.00 – 22.45: Samsung

Samsung Galaxy Note Pro
Take note: This is what we want from CES

The South Korean tech titan will have plenty to show off at CES this year including TVs, speakers, tablets, wearables and cameras. However, expect it to hold off on discussion of the Samsung Galaxy S6 until Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March.

Tuesday, January 6 2014

01.00 – 01.45: Sony

Sony, like many of the big companies, will be focusing on its 4K TV lineup during CES but may also spare some time for its other departments. Wearable technology is likely to feature, as could a new smartphone.

The company may wait for the E3 conference to discuss PlayStation plans in depth, but we might get some more information about the much publicised Sony Pictures cyber attack.

19.00 – 20.00: Audi

Audi isn’t the only car manufacturer present at CES, but the German company has plenty of interesting technological advancements to keep us informed of.

Driverless cars and connected systems are likely to be on the agenda and we could hear about the progression of the Google-spearheaded Open Automotive Alliance.

These are just some of the scheduled events at CES but there’s plenty more taking place on the show floor and around the city. We’ll be bringing you all the latest news from Vegas as this year’s event unfolds, so stay tuned for the highlights.
