Halloween 2014: Special events, trick-or-treat times listing for the River … – The Huntsville Times

What are your plans for Halloween? 

Looking for something fun and festive to do with your little goblins this Halloween?

Lucky for you, several cities and different organizations have special events planned to keep kids entertained.

Here’s a look at some of the festivals and Halloween events happening in the River Region. If you’re just interested in going the traditional route with door-to-door trick-or-treating, we’ve listed the times for that as well.

Events

Prattville will host a Candy Walk tonight at the businesses downtown from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. for second graders and younger. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable canned food to donate to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center.

The Montgomery Zoo will wrap up it’s annual Zoo Boo event on Halloween with a hayride, games and more from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Hampstead in Montgomery will host an array of activities from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., including trick-or-treating followed by a Halloween bash at The Tipping Point.

Various organizations will take part in the annual Halloween Spooktacular in Montgomery, which will take place from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Garrett Coliseum.

The city of Auburn will host the 14th annual Downtown Trick or Treat from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Halloween. Neighborhood trick or treating will also take place at this time.

The city of Selma will host the annual Monster March beginning at 4 p.m. on Broad Street.

The city of Troy will host Pumpkins around the Square event for children 13 and under on Friday beginning around 4 p.m.

Trick-or-Treat times:

Trick-or-treating in Millbrook will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

Opelika residents should plan to do their candy collecting between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday.

In Prattville, Trick-or-treaters can go door-to-door between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday.

Tallassee will host trick-or-treaters from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday.

Trick-or-treating will begin at 4 p.m. and go until 6 p.m. on Friday in Selma.

Neighborhood trick-or-treating in Auburn will run from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The Dothan area will be trick-or-treating from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

Montgomery, Pike Road and Troy do not have designated trick-or-treat times.
