KARL Hawley has left Torquay United after an agreement was reached to terminate the remainder of the striker’s contract.

The former Scunthorpe, Carlisle and Preston forward moved to United in the summer of 2013 and made 30 appearances for the Gulls, scoring three times.

He has not figured in the plans of manager Chris Hargreaves this season and a parting of ways was deemed in the best interests of both parties.

“Everyone at Plainmoor would like to thank Karl for his hard work in United Yellow and we wish him the very best in his future career,” said a statement from the club.

Meanwhile, United at away at Lincoln City in the Vanarama Conference this afternoon with Ashley Yeoman available again after a rib injury. 

However, four players who will be unavailable are Ryan Bowman (suspended for the last time), Elliot Benyon (hamstring), Ben Harding (hamstring) and young left back Levi Ives, who is in Northern Ireland with the country’s the under-19s squad.
