Green Hall StaffordThe Grade II listed building was most recently used as county council offices

Plans to turn a Grade II-listed building into retirement homes have been approved by Stafford Borough Council.

Brick extensions added to Green Hall in Stafford in the 1960s will be demolished as part of the development.

The building will be converted into eight apartment with three more houses being built in the grounds.

In its history the 19th Century hall has been an asylum, a school and, most recently, county council offices.
