Runsewe Leads Race for IBB Captain’s Cup 2014

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has popped into the lead in the race for the IBB Club Captain’s Cup for the year 2014.
The coveted prize will be awarded at the end of the year and will feature only 150 players listed on the ranking board.
THISDAY gathered last night that the IBB Club committee created the award to encourage members to be proactive in club activities and to improve their game.The ranking format officially began in May and featured 203 players of the club.
The early pace-setter is Runsewe, the former Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) with a point haul of 1027. 

Closely on his chase is M. Tarfa, who has 818 points on the board, while Alex Chigbo is in third place with 778 points.
Other players in the top chart include, M. Amaete who is placed fourth with 697.5 points, O.A Ajibade in fifth and Paul Erokoro, who won the 16th CMCL Open last month to climb to sixth position with a total of 662 points.
The ranking the players for the Captain’s Cup is determined by their performance in club’s qualifying tournaments, Saturday Kitty, Monthly Mugs and sponsored tournaments.

The two key scoring events which the players cant ignore are the Monthly Mugs and sponsored competitions.Each of these events attracts 500 points while the Saturday kitty will fetch 300 points.
The players in the 92 position or lower in the Mugs will only bring five and three points on the board respectively.
Runsewe, who is a renown golf promoter, is considered the most improved golfer at IBB Club. While he was the Director General at NTDC, he supported professional golf, the Children’s Day Golf Clinic and Valentine Tournament at IBB International Golf and Country Club.
