Tuesday is ‘NOVA Voter Registration Day’

Northern Virginia residents can register to vote or check the status of their voter registration during NOVA Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at special locations throughout the region.


The jurisdictions listed below are hosting voter registration events in multiple locations. Please contact your local jurisdiction with questions regarding voter registration and elections.

The deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 5 Virginia General Election is Tuesday, Oct. 15.

You must update your voter registration before the deadline if you have changed your address or name, or you may not be able to vote.

On Tuesday, voters can go to the following locations to check their status:

  • Prince William County: 6:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. VRE Stations at Woodbridge 1040 Express Way; Broad Run 10637 Piper Lane, Bristow; Manassas 9451 West St., Manassas and Manassas Park 9300 Manassas Dr., Manassas Park.
  • Alexandria City: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library 5005 Duke St, Alexandria.
  • Fairfax County: 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Herndon Fortnightly Library 768 Center Street, Herndon; Reston Regional Library 11925 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston; Martha Washington Library 6614 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria; Pohick Regional Library – 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke; Chantilly Regional Library 4000 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly; Richard Byrd Library 7250 Commerce Street, Springfield; Walmart, 6000 Burke Commons Rd, Burke 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
  • Northern Virginia Community College – CF Building (food service building) 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Mosaic District, Strawberry Lane across from Strawberry Lane Park 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • City of Falls Church: 4:30-6:30 p.m., Mary Styles Library, 120 N. Virginia Ave., Falls Church City.
  • Loudoun County: Noon – 7 p.m. at Ashburn Library 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn; Cascades Library 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls; Gum Spring Library 24600 Millstream Drive, Stone Ridge; Purcellville Library , 220 E. Main St., Purcellville; Rust Library 380 Old Waterford Rd., Leesburg.

Prince William County residents who cannot attend a Voter Registration Day event have several options to register to vote or check/update your voter registration status:

  • Online (by Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m.) – Register to vote, update or check your voter registration status online.
  • Register/Update In Person (by Oct. 15 at 5:00 p.m.)
  • Prince William County Office of Elections, 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1, Manassas, VA 20110.
  • Office Hours (Office closed Oct. 14 for Columbus Day): Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Office of Election Satellite Office, Woodbridge DMV, 2731 Caton Hill Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192. Office Hours (Office closed Oct. 14 for Columbus Day): Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
  • Register/Update By Mail (Postmarked by Oct. 15) – To request a voter registration application, call the Office of Elections at 703-792-6470 during PWC office hours noted above. Applications are also available at your local library or Board of Supervisors office. Mail the completed and signed application to: Prince William County Office of Elections, 9250 Lee Ave., Suite 1, Manassas, VA 20110.

The Nov. 5 General Election will include elections for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and House of Delegates. Two special elections are also scheduled in Prince William County; Woodbridge District School Board member and Town of Occoquan Town Council member.
