Grade I listed hotel sold for undisclosed fee

A historic hotel and popular wedding venue in Northamptonshire has been sold for an “undisclosed” amount.

Fawsley Hall Hotel, the 4 AA Star Grade I listed hotel, near Daventry, has been bought by Hand Picked Hotels, a firm that now owns 20 sites across the country.

In May, it was revealed the hotel had been put up for sale, with some reports claiming it was on the market for around £15 million.

The hotel, which dates back to the Tudor period, includes an orangery, 58 bedrooms and suites, wedding, conference and banqueting facilities and private cinema, as well as a spa with indoor pools.

The luxury hotel also includes a 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant and a 70-seat bistro.

Julia Hands, from Hand Picked Hotels, said: “Fawsley Hall will be a natural fit for our collection – an architecturally splendid property in an outstanding setting – with excellent spa and leisure, wedding, conference and events facilities. The hotel is close to Silverstone, Althorp and Warwick Castle, with the M1 and the M40 providing excellent road links to the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire.

“This reflects our expansion strategy to acquire hotels in good, accessible locations.”

Jeremy Jones, from Christie and Co, which brokered the deal, said the hotel had “generated exceptional interest and a competitive offer process”.
