Town’s transfer-listed duo earn praise after Maidstone win

Hatters first team coach Hakan Hayrettin praised both Scott Rendell and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner after they returned to Town’s side on Tuesday night, writes Mike Simmonds.

The transfer-listed duo, who have been out on trial recently, both completed 90 minutes as Hatters ran out 2-0 winners over Maidstone United.

Hayrettin said: “They showed a great attitude and a professional attitude.

“I was very, very pleased with the both of them and will report back to the gaffer (John Still) and tell him that.

“That’s what you want as you never know who’s watching.”

His view was echoed by winger JJ O’Donnell, who said: “They are top professionals, both of them.

“Rens is brilliant. If you see him in training, he works as hard as any of the boys.

“Maybe he got told he wasn’t required this season, which is football, but Rens has got a great attitude.

“He’s a great lad and I’ve got a lot of respect for Rendell.

“Rowe-Turner is exactly the same. He’s another lad who has been told maybe his future lies elsewhere, but he’s put in a professional performance and they’re both top players.”
