The Guide Launches With Over 4500 Listed Events

It’s taken a lot of time, a lot of testing and a broken server but we at theMusic.com.au are delighted to officially launch Australia’s premier gig guide: theGuide.

A feature of the website we’re immensely proud of, we believe it’s the biggest, best and most comprehensive of its type in the country. Soft-launched last week, themusic.com.au/events has already become one of the website’s most-visited as the word has begun to spread.

And so it should, as of a few hours ago theGuide has a whopping 4,592 events listed forward of today.

On top of that, over 18,500 bands and artists have been added to the database since testing began – bet you didn’t know Australia had that many acts!

Today Street Press Australia’s Group Managing Editor Andrew Mast said, “This is a very exciting extension to the site.

“With the faceted searching, which updates the search results automatically when you add criteria, theGuide is so easy to use even your grandmother can look up gigs with it. With over 4,500 gigs at your keyboard and on your mobile, you’ll probaly realise there are more gigs on in Australia than you thought possible.”

But this is just part one. Even though theGuide works perfectly on mobile devices no matter your phone or OS right now, we’ll be launching the full app in the not-too-distant future. Soon you’ll be able to save your favourite searches (for example the handful of venues closest to you) and personalise theGuide to your specific needs.

As you’ve already experienced, theMusic.com.au has one of the biggest collections of reviews and interviews of any site in the world – and soon they’ll be integrated into theGuide as well.
