St. Albans Drive-In Listed For Sale

ST. ALBANS TOWN, Vt. –

An online real estate posting says it all. The St. Albans Drive-In is for sale, something confirmed to Fox 44 by the company handling the sale.

“It’s one of those things you say ‘I want to go’ now I just really want to go before it leaves just so you can do it at least one more time.

The theater was owned by Paul Gamache of St. Albans who died in January of this year. Now it’s under the management of his son Anthony Gamache who didn’t returned our phone calls as of Friday evening.

People we spoke to shared found memories of the drive-in founded in 1959.

The drive-in is closed now and has been all winter but across the road there’s tons of action as Walmart has started to take shape. That has some people in town speculating as to why the theater’s for sale.

“So is it sad to see the drive-in’s selling it?” we asked on resident.

“Yeah because of Walmart it is. It’s very disappointing,” Felicia Dinunzo said.

Regardless of the motive for selling it on the drive-in’s real estate listing the property is called superb for retail.
