Blood drive results listed; two additional events planned

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center held a blood drive March 13 at the Keosauqua Senior Center, drawing 27 pints of blood.

With the success of this blood drive, blood center personnel announce two more blood drive in the area.

The first drive will be 3-7 p.m. April 3 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Feb. 6 are eligible to donate again.

The second drive will be 2-7 p.m. April 9 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Feb. 12 are eligible to donate again.

Walk-in donors are welcome at both blood drive events, but donors who prefer appointments can call the blood center at 800-452-1097.

Donors must be at least 16-years-old, be in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds.

A blood donor card or another form of photo identification is required to donate.

Sixteen-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form each time they donate. Parental consent forms are available at www.bloodcenter.org.

According to blood center personnel, blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about an hour to complete.
