The successful candidate will be involved in the design thereof all magazine aspects from editorial to advertising in print and online, event design from hard copy and html invitations to 3D rendering and tangible event design requirements, marketing concepts and campaigns, platforms and ideas for clients and the group of companies, miscellaneous print, online and digital design, development and production.
We are looking for a middleweight to senior experienced multimedia graphic designer to join our design department who want to grow, utilising ones potential and skills to benefit both the company and individual, who would interact with the editorial team, events team, sales and marketing online team, clients and suppliers in a proficient and professional manner.

Able to work in an open office at a fast creative, skilled and upbeat pace
Confident and experienced in taking the lead and management of the full spectrum of design project responsibilities.
Overtime and/or weekend work is often required if a job is not going to make its deadline
Innovative mind, confident, sophisticated and techno savvy

Required skills
Excellent computer skills and knowledge on an Apple Mac platform
The full spectrum of graphic design, marketing and design developing, from pitch, concept, presentation, design, sourcing and production, finalising to budgeting, quoting and client liaison
A proficient knowledge of design platforms is expected.
Excellent design and layout skills and experience within the magazine, advertising and event design industry together with digital and online design (development advantageous).
Advanced in Photoshop manipulation and rendering, as well as vector illustration for design jobs such as logo’s, CI, event design requirements: invitations hard copy and html, packaging and rendering.
Crucial software knowledge and experience: Adobe 5+ Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint with strong experience in repro and colouring correcting and photo and vector manipulation.
Excellent and efficient presentation and pitch compilation, design and production
Conceptual planning conducted by studying the information and material supplied, together with sufficient research to fulfill the brief
Print/Job preparation, production and process knowledge and experience. (With a clear knowledge of advertising material requirements to ensure that artwork is to the correct specifications)
Basic to intermediate* web development skills, which includes: html, CSS, JQuery. Need to be familiar with blogging platforms: wordpress, drupal, etc. Crucial for middleweight/senior position.
Flash animation, 3D rendering of event layout and design, MYSQL.
Basic to intermediate web development skills, which includes: html, CSS, JQuery.
Need to be familiar with blogging platforms: wordpress, drupal, etc.
Image sourcing experience (agency, stock and free), photography a bonus
Social Media, digital and online savvy: advantageous
Experience
Three to six years within the relevant design industries

Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, and be able to follow a design brief closely and accurately

Company loyalty and event attendance where required
Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new creative briefs
Capability to work methodically and possess strong organisation skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
