Josh Hamilton listed as day to day

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton came out of Friday’s 5-3 spring training win over the Colorado Rockies after seven innings with a tight left groin.

Hamilton was listed as day to day.

“He said it was tight, so I told him to get out of here,” manager Ron Washington said.

Hamilton had a double that drove in two runs in the fifth, giving the Rangers the lead that they would hold for the remainder of the game.

Hamilton had avoided any minor injury issues this spring. He arrived lighter, and has played some left field and center. He is hitting .236 and has yet to hit a home run but said he feels like his swing is making progress less than a week before Opening Day.
