What’s Happening in Stamford This Weekend

STAMFORD, Conn. — Award-winning actress and performer Liza Minnelli hits the stage Friday night in Stamford to kick off the weekend. Details for Minnelli’s performance as well as other events are listed below.

Friday, March 30

6:30 p.m.: The Stamford Innovation Center will host its first annual “Start-Up Weekend,” allowing entrepreneuers to develop ideas and present them to investors. Tickets are $99 for developers, $49 for students and $20 for investors. The innovation center is located in Old Town Hall, 175 Atlantic St.

7 p.m.: The Stamford Museum Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, will take people on a nature walk to learn about toads, salamanders and other amphibians during the “Amphibian Amble.” Call 203-977-6521. Saturday, March 31

11 a.m.: The Ferguson Library, 1 Public Library Plaza, will use props, large print and Braille materials during “Storytime for the Visually Impaired.”  Each child takes home a story kit, including a Braille copy of “Feathers for Lunch” by Lois Ehlert. 7 p.m.: Come out and support Stamford’s own Yvonne Cheng, a soprano, who will sing at the Greenwich Library, 101 W. Putnum Ave., Greenwich. Tickets are available at door 30 minutes prior to concert. 7 p.m.: Get in touch with your spiritual and musical sides during the New World Chorus Concert at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road. The concert is free and will consist of singing, readings and community prayer.
