Max Williamson and Kirsten Nitz excel in swimming events – High School State Championships, Kentucky

Max Williamson of CC and Kirsten Nitz of WH excelled in the swimming events by earning gold medal of the Boys 200yard Individual Medley (IM) and Girls 50yard freestyle, respectively at the Kentucky High School State Championships for Boys and Girls in Louisville
on February 26.

The 11-year-old Williamson devastated hopes of his opponents by completing his swim in a time of 1 minute and 49.58 seconds for gold medal. He was chased by Connor Lohman of KCD, who stayed about four seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and settled
on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 53.06 seconds for silver medal.

The third spot of the race was obtained by Robert Leasure of STX, who was just 0.07 seconds behind the silver medallist and reported an effort of 1 minute and 53.19 seconds for bronze medal.

Subsequently, Nitz proved her eligibility for the gold spot of Girls 50yard freestyle. The 12-year-old Nitz sprinted her way towards the finishing wall with an effort of 23.59 seconds for gold medal. With her scintillating form, she remained 0.18 seconds
ahead of DM’s Sarah Love, who ended her swim in a time of 23.77 seconds for silver medal.

The 11-year-old Love was trailed by Mackenzie Margroum of NDA, who seized third finest spot of the event by submitting an effort of 23.80 seconds.

The third event of the session was Boys 50yard freestyle, where Thomas Cooper of TRN remained dominant over his challengers throughout the event and touched the finishing blockade with a timing of 20.67 seconds for gold medal.

With his stupendous effort, he remained nearly half a second ahead of Brian Habacivich, who secured second best spot of the event by producing a time of 21.19 seconds. He was only 0.10 seconds faster from Garrett Stephens of STX, who clocked an effort of
21.29 seconds for bronze medal.

The audience appreciated praiseworthy struggles of all teenage swimmers in their exclusive events while the position holders were awarded accolades for their undisputed efforts at medal ceremony of the session. Furthermore, the championship ended after the
completion of all listed events.
