Sunday’s observances to mark the 10-year anniversary of the
Sept. 11, 2001, attacks include:
ARGYLE
* Argyle Fire Rescue’s public
memorial ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. at the firehouse. Also,
fire, EMS and police personnel will be standing in silent vigil
beneath the flags at the firehouse from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
CORINTH
* Remembrance ceremonies sponsored by
the Corinth community churches will begin with an ecumenical
service at 4 p.m. at the Holy Mother and Child Catholic Church on
Palmer Avenue, during which a hymn specifically written for 9/11
will be sung. Following the service, at 5 p.m., there will be a
parade from Town Hall on Palmer Avenue to the 9/11 Memorial in
Pagenstecher Park. A ceremony at the park will include a
wreath-laying, playing of taps and a firing salute. At 6 p.m., a
reception will be held at the Holy Mother of Child Church parish
center, where the community will honor an EMT, paramedic and
firefighter of the year.
FORT ANN
* The Cornerstone Bible Church at 59
County Route 16 in Fort Ann will hold a special service at 10:30
a.m. with the theme of “Honoring and Remembering Those Who
Sacrificed and Served.”
FORT EDWARD
* Requiem Mass at St. James
Episcopal Church at 112 Broadway, Fort Edward. The church is
extending a welcome to the public to attend a Requiem Mass honoring
those who died in the terrorist attacks. Refreshments will be
served in the parish hall after the 10 a.m. service.
GLENS FALLS
* Remembrance ceremony and Sept.
11 memorial dedication. Dedication of 9/11 memorial, public
speeches, a moment of silence and bell-ringing ceremony, 10:30 a.m.
at the Glens Falls firehouse, 134 Ridge St.
* “Reflections on 9/11: NYC Through the Eyes of American Youth.”
Art created by youth from around the country reflecting their
impressions of the events of Sept, 11, 2001. World Awareness
Children’s Museum, 89 Warren St.. Exhibit is ongoing. Open noon to

* “Walking Through Ground Zero – Images From the First 24 Hours.”
Photojournalist Jim MacMillan present his photographs taken in the
hours following the attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade
Center. MacMillan’s work is part of the museum’s exhibition “New
York, New York! The 20th Century.” 3 p.m. at the Helen Froehlich
Auditorium, Hyde Collection art museum, 161 Warren St. Call

* Memorial rally at Crandall Park in front of the pond, 6 p.m.,
attended by a few people from the Stanton Nursing and
Rehabilitation Centre of Glens Falls and others.
* American Red Cross blood drive, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Glens

* “Remembering 9/11.” A concert
from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring Phil Hoyt at Veterans Park, Quaker
Street, Granville.
HUDSON FALLS
* “Come Together for 9/11: An
Evening of Reflection and Music.” Local clergy, educators and
musicians in a non-political offering of hope reflecting the common
bonds of all people and their beliefs, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hudson
River Music Hall at the Old Courthouse in the village of Hudson

SALEM
* Tenth anniversary of Sept. 11
observance service, 2 p.m. at the Historic Salem Courthouse, East
Broadway, Salem. Call 854-3555.
SARATOGA SPRINGS
* “We Remember; We Forgive;
We Seek Peace.” An interfaith prayer service with participation by
nine area Saratoga Springs-based churches and temples, 7 p.m. at
St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga

* Third annual Remembrance Day Ceremony. 10 a.m. at the War
Memorial in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs. Call 584-4715
* Saratoga county-wide remembrance. Saratoga County community and
religious organizations, residents and businesses are invited to
independently participate in a county-wide 30-second period of
silence at 8:46 a.m., followed by a memorial bell-ringing of five
phrases of five rings each to represent the lives lost as a result

SOUTH GLENS FALLS
* A 9/11 10th anniversary
memorial prayer service. 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 80
Saratoga Ave. A time of reflection on the 10th anniversary of Sept.

WARRENSBURG
* Warrensburg’s 10th
annual 9/11 ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the town bandstand
at the intersection of Main Street, Elm Street and Hudson Street.
The Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Company hosts the ceremony, which
includes a wreath-laying, a video tribute, music by the Warrensburg
Central School band and several short speeches.
WILTON
* A 4 p.m. memorial service and
tribute at the Wilton fire station at 270 Ballard Road is open to
the public to remember the victims and service persons of Sept. 11,
2001. The sculpture “Respectful Remembrances,” created by miChelle
M. Vara with a piece of the World Trade Center steel, will be
dedicated at that time.
