Wyoming is famous for its glorious Eastern Great Plains, majestic Rocky Mountains and pristine lakes – but now it’s also become the home to the world’s most expensive house.

The home has gone on the market for a staggering $175 million (£106m) and boasts a huge 1,750 acre back yard – but the main residence only offers three bedrooms.

Jackson Land and Cattle ranch is set in the beautiful surroundings of the western state, with incredible views of the Rocky Mountains.

It comes complete with an equestrian
centre, guesthouse and apartment for staff and boasts rolling timbered
hills with aspens and evergreens, large productive hay meadows and
fishing ponds.

But the main residence of the ranch, which was formerly the home to US governor Clifford Hansen, only has three bedrooms.

And it is being advertised for an eye-watering $175 million (£106 million) – believed to be most expensive house currently listed for sale anywhere in the world.

Its value is partly attributed to its development potential, with the property coming with permission to split the land into 35 separate residential sites.

However, the current owner, casino owner Richard Fields, ideally hopes any new buyer will preserve the whole land.

The property’s location also comes with tax benefits, as Wyoming has no state income tax or estate tax.

Jonathan Pierce, the property’s listing agent, said: ‘You can fish and ride and hunt and you’re still only three minutes from downtown Jackson Hole.

‘People wanting the absolute finest property in the absolute finest resort community in the country can give me a call.’

Jackson Land and Cattle is considerably more expensive than £75 million Updown Court in Surrey, which was the most expensive home for sale in the UK until it was repossessed earlier this month.

The most expensive house currently advertised in the playboy’s paradise of Monaco is a six-storey property for a mere £45 million while a 33 acre Bahaman island is available for the same price.

Bernie Ecclestone recently forked out £52 million on a Los Angeles mansion for his daughter Petra, having knocked a staggering £39 million off the asking price.

sitting within 58 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. It is
currently owned by 67-year-old Leslie Allen-Vercoe, who recently put it
up for sale after renovating it.

Beverly House in Beverly Hills was listed as the most expensive house in the world in Forbes Magazine.

The home, also known as Hearst House, is worth $165m (£100m) and was used in The Godfather film.

The 75,000sq ft. mansion was built in 1926 and boasts 29 bedrooms, 40 bathrooms, three swimming pools and a cinema.

My last post got messed up for some reason. Here are the two examples that should have been given: 1) She was looker her usual best. 2) He did nothing but the absolute least amount of work possible.

Robineff, Hampshire –
This is the best gramatical explanation I can give for the phrase. English makes it easy to convert adjectives into nouns and vice versa. So while “best” is an adjective,” “the best” is a noun, and “the absolute best” is a noun phrase in which “absolute” is an adjective. Here are some examples of this and similar phrases:
She was looking her .
He did nothing but the amount of work possible (NP “the absolute least” – ADJ “absolute least”)
Can anyone think of other examples?

$100,000 per acre? What drugs is the owner on?

QUOTE: Jack 04.39 – A word which qualifies an Adjective is an Adverb – which ends in ‘-ly’. ‘Finest’ and ‘Best’, like ‘Unique’ cannot be qualified. They either are or they’re not.
– Robineff, Hampshire, 29/7/2011 09:18. Hmmm… are you certain about this? After all one could ask the question “Is language UNIQUELY human?” and many other examples.

Uncle Bill, Germany, 28/7/2011 20:14 – Unfortunately, our schools can’t properly educate their students anymore. All their time is spent teaching the students how to pass the standardized tests required by the government. (Our nannies are getting stronger.)
