Morrow County holiday events, area fireworks listed

» Morrow County Independence Day Celebration – Sunday and Monday at Morrow County Fairgrounds. Admission is $6 at the gate/infield additional $6 each day. Children 5 and younger admitted free each day through the gate; everyone pays to enter the infield. Cost is $10 per carload after 8:30 p.m. on July 4.

Sunday: OSTPA Sanctioned Truck, Tractor and Semi Pull, 7 p.m. at the grandstand.

Monday: Corn Toss contest, 11 a.m.; Pedal Pull (Grandstand), 1 p.m.; Rough Truck Contest, 3 p.m.; Community Day Events and Games (Youth Building and Grandstand), 4 p.m.; pies turned in for judging (youth building), 4 p.m.; pie auction (youth building), 5 p.m. Demolition Derby, 6:30 p.m.; square dance (youth building), 8 to 11 p.m. and fireworks, 9:45 p.m.

The pie contest will pay $50 for first place and $25 for second. Pies will be sold at the auction to benefit the building fund.

» Prospect Fourth of July Celebration – Festivities begin at noon on Monday at the Prospect Community Park. Food and fun all day; fireworks display at dusk.

» Marion County Fair – Rides open 10 a.m. on July 4 for the run of the Marion County Fair, Monday to July 9. Fireworks at 10 p.m. Monday.
